Willard Christopher Smith or Will Smith is one of the talented film actors, television star and musician. He was born in Pennsylvania, in 1968. He was the second of four children. He started his career in the 80s. When he began, he was often known as Fresh Prince and later he was known as rapper Will Smith. As a musician he has acquired great success. When he was just 16 years old, he met DJ Jeff Townes. Both Willard Christopher Smith and DJ Jeff Townes got together and made a duo band which became prominent within a short period of time. But his musical career was impacted negatively by his higher education. He received MIT scholarship and concentrated into higher education. But his love for music was real. In 1987, he and Townes released their work “Rock the House” which included a hit single called “Girls Ain't Nothing but Trouble."
The duo gained critical acclaim and won the first Grammy awarded in the Rap category (1988). They broke into the mainstream a year later with their work for “He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper”. This was one of the earliest hip-hop LPs to attain double-platinum standing. The duo received international appreciate and critical fame due to their witty, clean-cut and rocking approaches. The next work of the duo was “And in This Corner…” was released in 1989. When the duo took off in reputation, Smith earned and used a big amount of money on accommodation, automobile and jewelry which in fact led him to bankruptcy in his early twenties.
Smith’s popularity took him to Hollywood with many offers and projects. He again concentrated into music career in 1991. DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince (Smith) got together and released Homebase. Later, Smith and Jazzy Jeff released “Code Red”. But this album was not as good as the previous ones. After that Smith remained busy working in films. He co-starred in the hit film “Bad Boys”. Later Smith got offer for 1996's “Independence Day”. Some of his other works include Men in Black (1997), Enemy of the State (1998), Wild Wild West (1999), The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000), Ali (2001), Men in Black II (2002), and Bad Boys II (2003)
