UNKLE, which is often known as U.N.K.L.E, is a musical outfit formed in 1994, in England. This group has often been categorized as trip-hop. Many guest artists and producers work in this group that once included DJ Shadow. At present, the lineup includes Pablo Clements and James Lavelle, also an artist from Psychonauts.

In 1998, some important members (Goldsworthy and Kudo ) left the band. It was that time when DJ Shadow (US producer) helped to band to go on. After the joining of DJ Shadow, UNKLE came up with its debut album “Psyence Fiction”. On this album a range of guest artists including Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Mike D (Beastie Boys), Badly Drawn Boy as well as Ashcroft of The Verve. The album had songs which combined indie-rock with hip hop.

Around in 2003, UNKLE came up with another release called “Never, Never, Land”. In this work,

UNKLE was seen with some new artists. Richard File, mani (The Stone Roses, Primal Scream), Ian Brown (The Stone Roses), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age),Robert Del Naja (Massive Attack), and many other artists.

The band was able to released their third album, entitled “War Stories”. This album was released in July 2007. Like the previous albums and singles, this album also had a combination of several new musical and existing musicians. It attributes collaborations with Ian Astbury (The Cult), The Duke Spirit, Robert Del Naja (Massive Attack), Autolux, Gavin Clark and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). This album was a hit album by this band because of adding great rock influence which was never see in their previous works. UNKLE released an EP, Nights Temper, of which was released in May 2007.

UNKLE is the band that could work with artists like Oasis, Massive Attack as well as Explosions in the Sky.
