About The Fray

The Fray is a popular rock band that was formed on 2002 in Denver, Colorado. The members are Isaac Slade (Lead vocals, piano), Dave Welsh (lead Guitar), Joe King (Rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Ben Wysocki (Drums). The Fray started in their Christian school was Isaac and Joe reunited and they started to play together as well as they start writing a song. In ongoing of their career, they added members one at a time.

The Fray launched their first EP called “Movement EP” in the year 2002 and one year later, they followed “Reason EP” that was produced by Aaron Johnson. The band was discovered by Epic Records A&R through Westword and later on, they signed a contract with them on 17th of December 2004.

The band released their first debut album entitled “How to Save a Life” on September 13, 2005 by Epic Records. The album was ranked top 15 on Billboard 200 and it was a Certified Platinum Records. While their singles “Over My Head (Cable Car) and “How to Save a life” was their master piece in stardom and it was featured on Grey’s Anatomy episode.

In the year 2009, the launched their 2nd album with a self titled “The Fray” on February 3, 2009 produced by Mike Flynn together with Aaron Jayson and it was recorded by Warren Huart. While the music video was held in Chicago directed by Josh Forbes. The album sold 179,000 in its opening week followed by the success of its singles and it was charted as number 1 in Billboard 200.

They followed their extended play called “Christmas EP” on December 8, 2009. The album contains Christmas songs prior to the celebration of Christmas Day and they gave their album ‘Christmas’ for free to download in their website. Their next album was “Scars and Stories” that launched on February 7, 2012 as their 3rd album and produced by Brendan O’Brien and recorded in Blackbird Studio in Tennessee. The 3rd single “Be Still” was featured in Criminal Minds Episode 20 (Season 7).

In the present year, they introduced “Helios” that was released on February 25 by Epic records and they worked together with Stuart Price and Ryan Tedder for the production. They also collaborated with the writers of their song including Busbee, Mathew Thiessen, Matt Hales and many more…

In one of their interviews, they revealed that they will work together with a famous artists like Billy JoelBruce SpringsteenBob Marley and Annie Lenox in their future work. On the other hand, the band received many awards and nomination including the nomination in Grammy Awards; they won 3 prizes in Billboard Music Awards and also in Planet awards.
