About Stone Sour
Stone sour is a famous heavy metal band that was formed on 1992 on Des Moines, Lowa. The band members consisted by Corey Taylor (lead vocals and founder), Roy Mayorga (Drums) and Josh Rand (Guitar). The band named was from a strong alcoholic drink with a combination of Whiskey, orange juice and sour mix and they came up with the name “Stone Sour”.
Stone sour released their first debut album with a self titled “Stone Sour” on August 27, 2002 by Roadrunner Records and the band. It was produced by Tom Tatman and recorded in Cedar Falls, Lowa through Catamount Studio. It included the single “Bother” that was featured soundtrack in the film Spiderman and ranked number 2 in Mainstream Rock Chart and number 56 in Billboard Hot 100. The band was nominated as Best Metal Performance in the Grammy Award for the single “Get Inside” and “Inhale”.
In the year 2006, they introduced their 2nd album entitled “Come What (ever) May” on August 1 which they produced together with Nick Raskulinecz and in Los Angeles California. They were nominated in 49th Grammy Awards for “Best Metal Performance” by the single “30/30-150” which became Certified Gold in US and Canada that sold 80,000 copies on its first week.
The next album “Audi Secrecy” was released on 10th of June; it was a tribute to Paul Gray (Bassist of Slipknot; their former band). The album received a positive feedback by prominent critics in industry and Gregory Heaney (All Music) admires the voice of Taylor. The band performs in the Uproar Festival for the first time together with Avenged Sevenfold and other bands. On March 27, 2012 they launched their 4th album “House of Gold & Bones Part 1” followed by “House of Gold & Bones Part 2” for the year 2013. But before the release of the album they introduced the song “The Pessimist” that became a soundtrack of the famous film “Transformer: Dark of the Moon”. In the band’s tour they were worked together with Johny Chow along with the deep metal band Cavalera Conspiracy as their additional musician for the “House of Gold & Bones tour”. In addition, the famous “Golden Gods Award for Best International” is one of their major awards they received and got nominated for “Golden Gods Award for Album of the year” in 2002 while Corey Taylor won the “Best Vocalist” and Mayorga got the nomination for “Best Drummer” in the year 2013.
