About Steve Aoki

Steven Hiroyuko Aoki also known as “Steve Aoki” is an electro house music artist that was born on November 30, 1877 in Miami Florida by Rocky Aoki (Former wrestler) and Chizuru Kobayashi. He produced the “Do it Yourself Records” and make a mini concert in Biko Roos (Student housing Cooperative) in his college years and at the age of 20, he was the founder of his own Dim Mak Records.

Dim Mak records produced many music artist including Infected Mushroom, Felix Cartal and Mustard pimp etc. Steve collaborated with Blake Miller, The Machine Kills (from the album Ebullition Records) to produce different styles of remixes. He support Michael Davis Music Is Revolution Foundation and later on became the Board member of this organization to give music education to the public schools in May 2006.

In January 2008, Steve released his debut album called “Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles” with a remix “Essential Mix” that played in BBC Radio 1 in the month of August and October. He collaborated with his friend and co-producers that produced many singles and also he did remixes for different artists including Eminem, Jackson 5, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg Etc.

One year later, he released a remix version of the song “Forever” by Drake that became Top in Hype Machine’s Chart. Steve performs many shows in different countries including Beijing, China and he got “55 towns” in “60 days” all over the United States and Canada.

He released his studio album “Wonderland” on Jan 10, 2012 by Dim Mak and Ultra Music that got hit in US Dance and US Indie Chart. Through the albums and shows he was declared as the most paid dance artist of North America in that year.

Aoki worked together with Zuper Blahq in the song “I’m in the House” that ranked number 29 in UK Singles Chart and top five for UK Dance and UK Indie Chart that was featured in MTV’s Jersey Shore episode.

He was a guest in the particular celeb player in NBA 2k8 and NBA 2K9 video games and came out in the episode of Arrow (CW’S new series) on the year 2013, and according to Aoki he support PETA (the largest animal rights group all over the world). In upcoming year, he revealed that he will release two albums entitled “Neon Future” on September 30 2014 and the second is “Neon Future II” but he’s not yet sure when it will be released in the market.
