About Spor

Born in 1984, Jonathan Gooch (Spor) is a dubstep producer from Hertfordshire, England. His combination of samples and adrenaline filled beats form a unique dark style. Throughout his career, the talented artist has collaborated with many hit musicians. Similar acts include Phace, Apex, Black Sun Empire, and Evol Intent. Through the outlet of electronic music, Spor has connected with audiences on several continents.

During the early 1990s, Spor began writing and recording music. He also released a few unsolicited Eps. In 1996, he joined with fellow musician Chris Renegade and started Lifted Music. Soon, they began signing different producers to join their projects. In 2008, he released a re-mix of Muse's “Knights of Cydonia,” that became a popular hit. One year later, he dropped his second EP, Conquerors and Commoners. The music didn’t land him in the mainstream; but, found him a following in the dubstep circles. Spor also collaborated with the Gorillaz at this time on “Let You Go.” He spent the next year working with artist Noisia and Hadouken!. Additionally, Spor appeared on several different labels. In 2012, the artist announced he was going to release a few more EPs and then drop a new album. Before the release, Spor worked with fellow musicians Crystal Fighters and Kill the Noise.

In 2013, he decided to give up touring and DJing for a while, and return to the studio. Spor felt his creativity was being constrained and wanted to get back to forming works of art. In October 2013, he released his anticipated Calamari Tuesday under his new label Sotto Voco. The album became highly prized by critics. The record also solidified Spor as a major dubstep player within the industry. One year later, he followed by dropping another EP, Feed Me’s Psychedelic Journey. Feed Me is Gooch’s other alias, which is contained in the song title.

Spor’s career began to flourish and he used his popularity and company to help others. His label, Sotto Voco is known for signing young and up-and-coming artists. Spor continues to work with new artist and produce records. He does not have any scheduled shows at this time.
