About Soulja Boy

DeAndre Cortez Way a.k.a Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em or Soulja Boy is a rapper, actor, entrepreneur and record producer that was born on July 18, 1990 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. DeAndre and his family moved to Mississippi when he was 14 years old and all th way his father support him in his passion in music so that, he had his own record studio to discover his more potential in music.

As DeAndre goes on to his enthusiasm in music, he composed songs including his big hit “Crank That” that was posted in SoundClick, YouTube and MySpace in which it was released as an Independent album called “Unsigned & Still Major: Da Album Before da Album”. Through that song he was discovered by Mr. Collipark and eventually he signed a recording contract with Interscope Records.

His first album was “” that was released on October 2, 2007 through Collipark, Interscope, HHH Artists and Stack On Deck Records. He collaborated with Arab in the song Pass It To Arab, Bapes, and Yahhh that was charted as number 1 in US Top Rap Albums and number 4 in US Billboard 200 along with US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. One year later, he released his 2nd album called “ISouljaBoyTellem” on 16th of December through SOD, Collipark and Interscope Records. He also worked with Sammie, Shawty Lo, Sean Kingston, Gucci Mane & Yo Gotti, Show Stoppas and a lot more.

DeAndre open the door in being an actor, he was part of the film YouTube Love, What’s at Stake, School Gyrls Malice N Wonderland and a documentary of his life called Soulja Boy: The Movie as well as Officer Down. He was also featured in The Ellen DeGeneres Show, My Super Sweet 16, and Last Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Bachelorette.

The following years was a big achievement to him, his songs was like a communicable disease that easily spread to places by places. He became more known through his 3rd album called “The DeAndre Way” that was out on November 30, 2010 through SOD and Interscope records and it was produced by Boi1da, Bei Maejor, Young Yonny and Rico Beats. He worked with BirdmanJustin BieberNicki MinajSnoop DoggLil Wayne as well as Trey Songz and a lot more artists to form the album.

He received nomination in the Grammy Awards Best Rap Song for Crank That plus BET Awards Best New Artist, Viewers Choice award and he won the Best Hip-Hop Dance and Patiently Waiting: Mississippi on Ozone Awards. He also held tour including the America’s Most Wanted, Who they want, The World Is Yours and the latest Tour was called Swag Tour.
