Created in 2011, Rudimental is an electronic R&B band from London, United Kingdom. A mixture of soul and dance, the group captivates audiences with their heart-warming music videos. Similar artist include Avicii, Justice, Calvin Harris, and Naughty Boy. Their recent success has earned them many awards garnered critical acclaim. The ensemble contains four multi-talented artist including Piers Agget, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden, DJ Locksmith. Together, Rudimental proclaims they are trying to bring soul and emotion into modern dance.
The group began playing in pubs in the local London area. After gaining a following the group released their first single, which seemed to flounder. “Deep in the Valley” didn’t do much but it gave the group a foundation to work from. Eight weeks later, they dropped another song, putting them on the music map. The group continued to write and record throughout the year.
In 2012, the group dropped another single titled, “Spoons.” It received mixed reviews and drew little awe from fans. The song didn’t gain much attention; yet, did end up on a few radio stations in London. Afterwards, their work got the attention of writer, singer, producer Paul Newman. The musician worked with Rudimental on their next project, “Feel the Love,” which skyrocketed once it went on sale. The song reached the top of UK Billboard charts and gained the band a large following. They followed with another hit single that continued the success of the band.
In 2013, their debut album dropped and became a fan and critic favorite. It earned awards and nominations that solidified the group as one of the top up-and-coming artist. They followed the release with a worldwide tour. Their performances included notable stops in New York, San Francisco, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2014, they dropped a DVD with live footage from Glastonbury. They also announced they will be releasing another single featuring popular artist, Becky Hill. Rudimental is currently on a worldwide tour making stops in San Jose, California and Stafford, UK.
