About Nine Inch Nails
Nine Inch Nails (NIN) is an American rock band that was formed on 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States by Trent Reznor. The members are comprises with the founder Trent Reznore ( producer, singer-songwriter, instrumentalist), Robin Finck (guitarist), Alessandro Cortini (keyboard) and Ilan Rubin (drums) in which their genre was alternative Rock, Dark Ambient, Industrial metal as well as Industrial Rock style of music. As the band started, they recorded singles and demo tapes that became their way in signing a recording contract with many labels. It was became a band when it was a live performances but all throughout the career its Trent who made and composed of everything.
He begins releasing album in year 1989 which is the “Pretty Hate Machine” that was out on 20th October through TVT Records and produced by Trent himself together with Flood, Adrian, Sherwood, Keith LeBlanc and John Fryer. The album comprises of 10 tracks that ranked at number 67 in UK Albums Chart as well as number 75 in US Billboard 200. Aside from that, it was recognized as Certified 3x Platinum album by RIAA that sold 3 million copies in US that was also included at number 50 of Slant Magazine as Best Albums of the 1980’s. Followed by an EP called “Broken” on September 22, 1992 by Nothing, TVT and Interscope Records that contains the tracks ‘Happiness in Slavery’ and ‘Wish’ that won in the 1993 Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performances.
In between 1994 to 2013, He released “The Downward Spiral” that became 4x Platinum that sold 4 million copies in US, next was “The Fragile”, “With Teeth” with “Year Zero”, “Ghost I-IV” “The Slip” and “Hesitation Marks”. The entire album became successful all throughout its released and it received lots of awards and nomination including Best Alternative Music Performances (nomination), a nomination for Best Rock Song for the song “Hurt”, Best Male Rock Vocal Performances along with Best Alternative Music Album.
As he going beyond, he collaborated with many artists including Peter Murphy, Richard Patrick, Marilyn Manson, Alan Moulder, Dany Hyde, Aphex Twin, Rick Rubin, Jane’s Addiction and as well as Dave Navarro. However in 2009, he decided to settle down but in the year 2013 he went back into the track in performing together with Atticus Ross, Dr. Dre, Alessandro Cortini, Dave Grohl and Josh Homme.
