About Munich Symphony
The Munich Symphony Orchestra (Münchner Symphoniker) is a German orchestra based in Munich. Kurt Graunke founded the orchestra as the Graunke Symphony Orchestra in 1945. The orchestra acquired its current name in 1990. Its primary concerts are given at the Herkulesaal and the Prinzregententheater, with some concerts given at the Munich Philharmonie
Since 2006, the orchestra's chief conductor is Georg Schmöhe. The orchestra's principal guest conductor is Philippe Entremont, with whom the orchestra made its US debut tour in 2005-2006
