About Morandi

Morandi is a music group from Bucharest Romania consists of the two talented artists Marius Moga and Andrei Stephan Ropcea. The name "Morandi" was actually obtained from Marius’ last name which is Moga and Randi which is the nickname of Ropcea.

The group gained popularity especially for young people in Romania. They were also known in different parts of Europe. These include Greece, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Albania, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Montenegro.

Cicero even stated that they were the best artist in Europe during their generation and was also considered one of the most successful bands in Europe’s history. The two were able to achieve high ranks in “World Chart Express” and in MTV Europe Chart”.

The group also received nomination for "Best Romanian Act". This was given by both "2005 MTV Music Awards" and "2006 MTV Europe Music Awards". They gained and won the title for "2008 MTV Europe Music Awards".

Morandi became the Universal Music’s first Romanian talent after he signed up a contract in 2007.

In 2008, one of their tracks titled "Angels" was considered in Russia as one of the most successful songs. It managed to sell about more than million copies in Russia. It was used widely as a ring back tone and achieved seven times platinum. On the other hand, their other song "Save Me" sold more than four hundred thousand copies and achieved two times platinum.

The group was able to launch nine singles, four studio albums and nine music videos. They also managed to do successful tours and performances all over Europe.

Some of their music videos include "Falling Asleep", “A La Lujeba”, “Colors”, "Rock The World", "Midnight Train", “Serenada”, "Everytime We Touch" and "Living Without You".

The song “Everytime We Touch” which was released on January 2013 was already played on the radio station “Europa Plus” in Russia in December 2012. Their four studio albums are "Reverse" (2005), "Mind Fields" (2006), "N3XT" (2007) and "Zebra".

Their single titled “Afrika” was also used in two consecutive episodes of the TV series “Merlin”.
