Is a multi talented Brazilian sertanejo singer-songwriter Michel Teló was born on January 21, 1981 in Medianeira, Paranả, Brazil. He is popularly known for his 2011 single “Ai Se Eu Te Pegol”. Long before his single, he had already been a successful performer for many years before recording the song, which became a number one hit in more than 15 countries. Teló is musically gifted and multi talented even at a young age. He can play the accordion, the piano, and the harmonica. At the age of six, Teló artistic career began when he made his first solo performance in his school choir, performing a piece by Roberto Carlos and Erasmo Carlos. At the age of twelve he formed his first band and in 1997, he joined the Brazilian band Grupo Tradição. It serves as his stepping stone for his successful musical career.
Télo’s rise to international fame begun when many footballplayers used the signature dance to “Ai se eu te pego” during goal celebrations helping to spread the song’s popularity. The song was further popularized by football player Neymar, Marcelo Vieira and Christiano Ronaldo. Aside from toping Brazilian Charts in 2011, it catapults to number 1 spot in many countries, including France, Italy, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands. It also conquered the Billboard Hot 100, placing Teló as the firstBrazilian solo act to have a song penetrate the US single chart since Sѐrgio Mendes in the 1960’s.
In 2008, he decided to leave Grupo Tradição, with his final album Micareta Sertaneja 2, was included in the nomination for a Latin Grammy in the Brazilian music category.
In 2009, Teló's started his solo career and released Balada Sertaneja on Som Livre. Ivan Myazato was the producer of the successful album. The album resulted in two singles: the highly and commercially successful “Ei, psiu! Beijo me liga” and “Amanhả sei Lả’. An even bigger success followed thru the release of the live album Michel Teló – Ao Vivo and was certified gold. It opened the way for a huge concert that happened lastSeptember 16, 2011 and was attended by remarkable 50 thousand people. An even more astonishing news is that according to Forbes magazine, the “Fugidinha Tour” was attended by more than 17 million people and that Teló had made $18 million in 2011.
