Matisyahu Concerts Schedule
Born in 1979, Matthew Paul Miller (Matisyahu) is a Jewish-American reggae singer from White Plains, New York. Possibly the most inspirational singer of the decade, Miller’s style is heart-warming, edgy and full of soul. The artist gets his motivation and creativity from his Jewish heritage and love for reggae. Similar acts include Damien Marley, The John Butler Trio, and SOJA.
Miller spent his youth wasting time and living the relaxed lifestyle of a modern hippie. After searching for some guidance, he finished school in Bend, Oregon. He spent the next few years trying to understand his Jewish heritage. Later, Miller began taking his music seriously and practiced endlessly in his bedroom. He spent the first half of the 2000-2009 finding a spiritual direction. By 2004, Miller was ready to venture out into the music industry and test the waters. He signed with an independent label and released Shake off the Dust...Arise. Afterwards, he went on tour landing spots on music festivals and performing with PHISH.
In 2006, he prepared and released a live album titled, Live at Stubbs. The record did well; yet didn’t gain him much of a mainstream following. He continued touring until he hit the studio for his third album. The highly successful record, Youth dropped in the spring and captivated audiences of all genres. The hit single “King Without a Crown” became one of the most popular and inspirational songs of the year. Although, the record received little radio play in the US, it reached the top ten on Billboard charts. He followed with long tours including another memorable show in Manchester, Tennessee.
Matisyahu spent the next few years gaining more recognition for his humanitarian work and music. During this time, he released more Eps including hit single “One Day.” In 2010, he returned to the famous Austin, Texas venue and recorded his second live album. Live at Stubs Vol. 2 received commercial and critical acclaim. Miller continued to tour and write music throughout the next few years. In 2014, he dropped Akeda. Matisyahu is currently on tour making notable stops in Veselovka, Russia and Santa Maria, Portugal.
