About Mat Zo

Matan Zohar also known as “Mat Zo” is an Electronic producer/composer/DJ that was born on April 30, 1990 in London, England by Israel Zohar and Wendy Caron Zohar. He was also called MRSA, MRZO, Unripe Lemon with a progressive trance, progressive house, drum & Base, Chill out and Garage style in music. When he was 8 years old his Father gave him a guitar and he discovered his love in music as well as playing instruments like drums and bass. Matan was influenced by the rock bands Draft Punk and Chemical Brothers which he pursue his passion as a DJ and composer. He started in the year 2006, were he released his single EP called “Exodus” on 6th of November 2006 with a: Loud Recordings. Next is “Foot and Mouth EP” that was introduced on 17th of March 2007 that comprising with 3 tracks including “Pay attention” and “Rashatan”. He got attention to other DJ such as Perry O’Neil, DJ R-Man, Airwave as well as Andy Moor who believe in his talent as a DJ.

In 2008, he released another EP called “Rush/Defined” through Anjunabeats while in his EP’s “Silver Lining (Tell Me)” he was collaborated with Jav D, Einat, Chris Allen, Stuart C, Mikey & Sharky Dub for the other remixes. Mat Zo received positive feedback from Above and Beyond as well as Lange and the popular Daniel Kandi in being a producer and a DJ. After that, he released his 5th EP entitled “The Lost / The Found” by Anjunabeats. He worked with Porter Robinson in “Easy” for 2012 and Chuck D for “Pyramid Scheme” on 2013 in which it reached number one in Beatport.

Later on, he released his first album called “Damage Control” on 5th of November 2013 that contains 14 tracks such as “Superman Lost”, “Only For You” and “Hurricane “by Anjunabeats that reached number 149 in US Billboard 200, number 7 in US Dance Chart as well as number 192 in UK Albums Chart and Number 1 in US Heatseekers Albums. However, he did remixes for “Circle of Life” of Elton John, Carmen Twillie and Lebo M, Empire of the sun’s “Alive” along with “Driving To Heaven” by Tiesto, “In My life” of Lustral, Radio head’s “Codex” and many more… He worked with many labels who discovered his potential as an artists and offer him contract including Hospital Records, Active Recordings, Mad Zoo, Armanda Music and Astralwerks were he released plenty of singles and EP’s that got big hit in all over the world.
