Most known for their intergalactic futuristic electronic sound, a band from Antibe, France; was like teleported here on earth to entertain us. Anthony Gonzalez together with Nicolas Fromageau, in 2001 called upon the stars and formed the band M83 named a galaxy. The band utilizes broad and extensive reverb effects with loud electronic instruments over softly sang lyrics.The Birth of a Star
Their first self-titled album became a hit in 2005, when Mute Records republished their album worldwide. Their second album entitled Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts was critically acclaimed in 2004. They went on a global tour and further amazed audiences from different cities. Before their third album, Fromageau decided to take a different path and left the band. On the first month of 2005, the band released their third album called Before the Dawn Heals Us.
In 2006, after the successful and applauded Before the Dawn Heals Us tour, Gonzalez took the band to explore ambient tracks. The following year, they finally released an album containing ambient works called Digital Shades Vol. 1.80’s in 2010
With inspiration from the 80’s music, the band published their fifth album Saturdays=Youth. According to Gonzalez, the 80’s epitomizes the era of superb music. The band got their inspiration from their teenage days and most of the songs were written to tell the story of their teenage years. They also had their hand in the movie industry. In 2010, the French director Gilles Merchand had them compose a score for the movie Black Heaven.Dreams Come True
In 2011,they posted an audition notice on their website and a lot of aspiring artist responded for the position. The then very young nineteen year old Jordan Lawlor was chosen. Shortly after, Gonzalez started working on something big. That same year A project he has dreamt about for a very long time. He wanted to create and publish a double album about dreams and differences. He wanted to make a thematic album embodying different feelings and stir-ups like a movie. Then the band gave birth to Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

Songs in Widescreen With their talent and fusion of electronic and futuristic genre, they had written yet another score for a Hollywood movie starred by Tom Cruise; the futuristic motion picture directed by Joseph Kosinski entitled Oblivion. Much of their work have been critically acclaimed and admired by the many. Recently this year, they released a single titled “I Need You”. The band currently has live shows and gigs on various places around the globe.
