Lykke Li: Songs and Movies. Lykke Li, an indie pop performer claims her nativity from Sweden. Her creativity stems in her blood and can be traced from her parents who are artists themselves. On her younger days, her family used to move a lot. She spent time 5 years in Portugal and a few years in Lisbon, Morroco, Nepal and India. She also stayed in Brooklyn, New York for a short period when she was 19.
Rising Star At a relatively young age, 21, she had her songs recorded and got it launched on the 30th of June, 2008 entitled Youth Novel. She sings a mix of indie-pop, soul, alternative and electronic genre. She gained popularity not only in the US but internationally.
Festival Tours Lykke have performed live on tour at Glastonbury, Coachella and Lollapalooza. She also been privileged to appear on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. She had worked with various performers including the Swedish artist Andeas Kleerup, Norwegian electronic artist Röyksopp and Kanye West. She also got a re-mixed version of her song “I’m Good, I’m Gone” played on the hit slasher movie “Sorority Row”. Similarly, her song “Possibility” was specially written and recorded for the popular movie “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”.
The Back Tracks Her sensual voice and the catchy futuristic electronic sounds in her music gained her more popularity in films and movies. In 2013, she had recorded numerous pieces for short films and major movies. Her song “Get Some” was featured at Hawaii 05 and Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and Premium Rush. Her song “Unrequited Love” was heard on the 4th season of “The Good Wife”. The hit musical series “Glee” also featured her song entitled “I Follow Rivers”. The same song was heard on the French box office romantic movie “Blue is the Warmest Color” and “Rust and Bone” respectively. These are a few of her published songs on film and the list goes on.
Modeling and Film She is also engaged in modeling business. She was one the official faces of Levi’s in 2010. Yearning for the fashion stage, she signed up a contract with VIVA Model Management in 2012. Recently, she took up showbiz into another level and debuted her acting endeavor in the Scandinavian film “Tommy”.
Awards In 2009 she was nominated for the Best International Female Award of Meteor Music and on the same year she won Studio8’s Female Voice of February. In 2012, she won 2 Swedish Grammies and a European Festival Award respectively.
