About Ludacris

Christopher Brian Bridges also knows as “Ludacris” is a popular rapper/actor/entrepreneur that was born on September 11, 1977 in Champagne, Illinois, US by Roberta and Wayne Bryan Bridges. He was the only child, he begin to compose a song when he was nine years old and studied in Emerson Middle School after they transferred to Chicago but in high school he went to Banneker High School in Georgia and graduated in Georgia State University. In the beginning of his career, he became a radio DJ with a screen name “Chris Lova Lova” in Hot 107.9. He also worked with Timbaland in “Phat Rabbit” that was included in Timbaland’s album that became a big hit all over the world. It was the start of his journey as a DJ and rapper so he had many opportunities to worked with famous artists including Dallas Austin as well as Jermaine Dupri.

His first debut album was “Incognegro” that was released on August 17, 1999 by DPT Entertainment. It consist of 16 tracks including “1st & 10” featuring Infamous 2-0 & Lil Fate, “Get me Off” together with Pastor Troy as well as “What’s Your Fantasy” featuring Shawna. The album was charted in US Billboard 200 and got number 179 while number 68 in Top R&B /Hip-hop Albums. One year later, he introduced his 2nd album entitled “Back for the First Time” on October 17, 2000 by Disturbing the Peace and Def Jam. The album became certified 3x Platinum by RIAA that sold 3.1 million copies all over the world. He also collaborated with many artists in this album such as Timbaland, Pharrell in “Southern Hospitality” and Tina Foxy Brown for the remixed version of the song “What's Your Fantasy”.

He followed his 3rd studio album called “Word of Mouf” that was released on November 27, 2001 that was produced by Paul King, Bangladesh, Timbaland, Jazze Pha, KLC, Jook and Swizz Beatz. The album was reached number 3 in Billboard 200 and got Certified 3X Platinum that sold 281, 000 copies and later on sold 3, 674,000 copies. It was his bestselling album in that time and was nominated in prestigious Grammy Award 2003 as Best Rap Album. In the year 2003 to present year, he released 6 album in which it was also successful like his past album. In addition to that, he was also featured in many movies including Max Payne, Gamer, Fast and the Furious 6 and upcoming Fats and the Furious 7. Even he faced some controversies, he still pursuing his career and passion as a singer, rapper and actor as well as his desire in releasing albums.
