Loc-Dog or Алекса́ндр Миха́йлович Жва́кин in real life (literally translated as Alexander Zhvakin) was born on January 25, 1989 in Ulyanovsk, Russia. He was credited for being the first Russian artist that specializes in electrorap and hip-hop types of music. As of today, he has a total of five album releases and has performed in numerous concerts in Russia and in other countries.
Loc-Dog’s Early Career
Loc-Dog began his professional career with the group Party of Ra in 2007. In 2009, he signed a contract with Dmitry Kondratyev, a Russian producer and site owner. Паранойя (Paranoia), Loc-Dog’s debut album was then completed and released to pubic in 2010 containing the hit tracks “Паранойя” (“Paranoia”), “До небес” (”Up to Heaven”) and “Смех” (“Laughter”). During the same year, he was called to do the opening act for the concert of American artist 50 Cent. Loc-Dog in 2011 to present 2011 has seen the release of Loc-Dog’s secondary and third albums entitled Всем до свидания (All Goodbye) and Апокалипсис 2012 (Apocalypse 2012), respectively. The albums included in their registers the songs “Снова” (“Again”) and “Зачинщик беспредела” (“Instigator of Lawlessness”). Loc-Dog became part of the headline news in September 2011 when he was reported to be rushed into the emergency unit of a Russian hospital after he helped a girl who was assaulted by an unknown individual. Loc-Dog received cuts on his cheek and forearm from the confrontation.
His fourth album entitled Прилетел (Arrived) was released the following year that includes “Могло бы быть иначе”) (“It might be otherwise”) and “Питер, Питер” (“Piter, Piter”) on its track list. In 2012, the Russian artist and his producer had arguments that lead to the cancellation of some of his then upcoming concerts. Later that year, the song “Слюни” (“Drooling”) was first aired and rumors has it that the content of the song revealed his thoughts on the conflict he had with his former producer. In 2013, Electrodog 2, his fifth and latest album was released to the market and the songs “На траве сырой” “On the Raw Grass” and “Счастье Project” (“Happiness Project”) were heard. Among the awards received by Loc-Dog during his career include the Artist of the Year Award (2009, 2010 and 2013) and Best Album Award (2012 and 2013) in the annual Hip-hop.ru Awards. In 2010, he was also included in the nominations for the Discovery of the Year Award in the Russian Street Awards. Loc-Dog has performed in live shows in Russia and abroad, selling thousands of tickets to his fans. He was also a common name in charity concerts and has also visited several universities to promote his music.
