About Laszlo Lajtha
László Lajtha (1892-1963) was one of the greatest Hungarian composers in the 1st half of the 20th century besides Bartók and Kodály. In addition, he was a dedicated ethnomusicologist, music pedagogist, pianist and conductor. He was also active and productive in a variety of areas such as church music, history of musical instruments, or international cultural diplomacy. CAREER
Born in Budapest, Lajtha studied with Viktor Herzfeld in the Academy of Music in that city and then in Leipzig, Geneva and finally Paris where he was a pupil of Vincent d'Indy
