About Kiss

Kiss is a hard rock band that was formed on January 1973 in New York City. The band members are Paul Stanley (vocalist and guitarist), Ace Freshley (Lead guitarist and backing vocalist), Gene Simmons (Bass Guitarist) and Peter Criss (Drummer) as well as Tommy Thayer (lead guitar/vocals) in the year 2002. They were known for their extraordinary style of face paint as well as their outfits, fire breathing in live performance and many more. Gene and Paul was a founder of the band which is a former members of the rock band Wicked Lester. They separated their ways in 1972 and formed their own, soon after step by step they completed the members of the band. It’s Simmon and Criss idea of giving the band name “Kiss” and changed the SS into an image of a lightning but their names got negative feedback.

The bands first performance was on the Popcorn Club on 30th of January 1973 and they recorded a demo tape that consists of five tracks and it was produced by Eddie Kramer (Former TV Director) which later on became their manager. However, they signed a recording to contract to Casablanca Records on 1st of November 1973. In the year 1975, they released their first debut album with a self titled “Kiss” on 18th of February by Casablanca and produced by Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise. The album got Certified gold record by RIAA that sold 500,000 copies. Followed by “Hotter than Hell” on October 22, 1974 and sold also 500,000 copies. It was re-released (Remastered Version) on 1997 and reached number 100.

From that moment the bands career continues rising, they released 21 albums from 1976 to 2012 includes “Dynasty” on 1979 that sold I million copies and became Certified Platinum by RIAA. While in the year 1981 they launched their album “Music from “The Elders” which they collaborated with Bob Ezrin, Allan Schwartzberg, St. Roberts Choirs and the famous The American Symphony Orchestra. The album was became successful and got charted in US, UK, Australia and Germany. The band was nominated in Grammy Awards for Best Hard Rock Performances and they won as Band of the year in 1996, Best Concert tour, Best Video Cassette, through the song “Psycho Circus” he got the Album of the Year and Stage Show of the year for the year 2000. The band performs many live concerts and shows all over the world and they still continuing making songs and new style of music.
