Katey's musical education was provided by K-Tel. Her teachers were Prince, Joni and both Elvises; Dolly, Depeche Mode and Duran Duran; Cyndi and Kenny (Rogers, not G); Chaka and Supertramp, Bowie and Babs. As a youngster, it was a grueling daily regimen of listening, learning, mix-tape making and singing into the mirror. Her first band had a name too embarrassing to mention. Her next one did too, and so did the one after that.
