About John Williams

John Towner Williams also known as “Maestro Williams” is an award winning composer, musician and conductor that was born on February 8, 1932 in Floral Park, New York, US. He was one of the prominent musician artists in industry in which he composed lots of song for films cinematic. Williams was graduated in North Hollywood High School and later on he moved to University of California, Los Angles with his mentor Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (Italian composer). He was married to Barbara Ruick and they were blessed with three children but Barbara died in 1974, after 6 years William got married for his 2nd wife named Samantha Winslow. One of his known works was with U.S Air Force Band to arrange and conducted them in their music. He attended piano lesson in The Julian School through his teacher Rosina Lhevinne; later on, he became the pianist in most of clubs around New York especially to Henry Mancini together with Jack Sperling, Rolly Bundock and Bob Brain. They appeared on Mr. lucky TV Series in which Williams was called “Little Johnny Love” and he became the leader of the band.

Williams composed the music for the films Indiana Jones series, Harry Potter as well as Star Wars series, Lincoln and Superman Etc… He collaborated with Director Steven Spielberg in and they worked together for a long time. He conducted concerts for different music instruments including Flute, Clarinet, Violin as well as Horn and it accompanied by the Orchestra. Williams also do projects including Orchestral works in which he do “Symphony #1” in 1965 and “A Timeless Call” along with that, he do also Chamber works incorporates with “Sonata for Piano”, “Air and Simple Gifts”and “Conversations” for his solo performance.

Being an award winning, all in all he received 5 winnings (Best Scoring Adaptation and Original Song Score, Best Original Dramatic Score, Best Original Score for Star Wars and Schindler’s list) and 49 nominations in Academy Award, along with that, he won 21 awards and 63 nominations in Grammy Awards, 3 winnings & 25 nominations in Golden Globe Awards while he won 3 awards and 3 nomination in prestigious Emmy Awards and many more.

In the other hand, he performed in Los Angeles Philharmonic that was held in Hollywood Bowl in which he participated as the conductor as well as composer in the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall in the year 2003. For the past years, he also featured as a conductor in New York Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra and aside from that, he was given honored in Annual Rcihard Kirk in the year 1999 BMI Award.
