John Clayton Mayer is an American singer/songwriter/producer that was born on October 16, 1977 in Bridgeport, Connecticut US. He contributed pop, blues rock, acoustic, blue-eyed soul, country and fold music during his career. John was inspired by Michael J. performance in Fox as Marty McFly and eventually he used to love playing instruments. While he was growing up, he suffered in Cardiac dysrhythmia and he got hospitalized. While his staying in hospital, he started writing a song but he experienced panic attacks and he had apprehension on entering in mental institution. However, John continues his medication and later on he finished his distress on his panic attacks.
John Mayer gained a big audience in Atlanta, where he came after graduating in 1998 from the musical college in Boston. His magical compositions and warm voice define his huge musical power while his smoky voice reminds of Sting and Jakob Dylan.
Mayer was raised in Connecticut listening to pop radio until he discovered blues at the age of 13. His neighbor gave his a record of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Mayer immediately bought a guitar and went on shocking the listeners in local blues bars. But he soon realized that just virtuous guitar playing is not his cup of tea. He understood that being an instrument playing other people’s compositions is not for him. He was already up to create something spectacular himself. Mayer devoted his life to developing his artistic talent, putting aside the technical part. At 19, he entered Berklee but left it soon. In 1999, he released the album consisting mostly of his own energetic and serious songs and some tracks recorded with a group.
The local press soon discovered the young man and praised his. He was described as sophisticated and easy to understand with his relevant topics and dramatic melodies.
In 2000, John Mayer goes to Austin, Texas and plays at the festival. Finally he was noticed by the major record labels and started composing his debut album. His new release Room for Squares was played fully on electric instruments. In studio, he is joined by a bassist and a drummer. Guided by a legendary producer Jack Puig they created remixes of seven older singles and a few new compositions.
From 2004, Mayer is a host of his own show where he gives musucal lessons. The show is not only about teaching but also easy and humorous talks on private and social topics. In 2005, he inspired the audience to compose music for his lyrics.
