About James Brown


James Brown is a former American recording artist/musician that was born on May 3, 1933 in Barnwell, South Carolina and died on December 25, 2006. He started in the year 1954 in making funk, soul, R&B, Rock n Roll and he also plays drums, percussion, organ and keyboards. Since he was young, the potential of being a singer has seen to him by many people who are closed to him. He joined singing contest in Augusta's Lenox Theater in the year 1944 and he won through the song "So Long". James past was not good as like the other children, when he was a teenager he became a boxer and when he was 16 years old James got caught by the police due to robbery and put in Juvenile Detention Center in Toccoa placed. During the time when he was detained, they formed a gospel quartet together with his fellow cellmates together with Johnny Terry. Eventually, he got paroled through S.C Lawson who became his sponsor and gave him a job for the span of 2 years and after that James met Bobby Byrd. Soon after they became friends and James was influenced by the music of former Michael Jackson, Edwin Starr, Dennis Edwards and also The Temptations.

The career of James in singing started when he joined in Gospel Starlighters (a cappella gospel group) as well as Avons (R&B band). After so many years, he got the opportunity to make his own album that was called "Live at the Apollo" that was released on May 1963 through King Records and it was produced by James Brown along with Harry Weinger. The album peaked at number 25 in Rolling Stone Magazine on 500 greatest albums of all time. Aside from that, it was included in National Recording Registry by Library of Congress.

In the year 1986, he released his 2nd album that entitled, "In the Jungle Groove" that was out on the month of August through Polydor Records. Followed by the 2 albums in the year 1991 such as "Start Time" and a compilation album called "20 All - Time Greatest Hits that comprises of 20 tracks. In the following year he released more albums and he also part of many films including Doctor Detroit, Undercover brother as well as Blues Brothers 2000. Even his past was not good as like the others, he had been successful all throughout his career being a singer and an actor in which he contributes a lot of music and performances around the world.
