James Hiller Blount is born on February 22, 1974 in Tidworth, Wilshire, England. This musician has made his name all over the UK's music industry despite the lack of musical presence while growing up. He actually came from what most people consider as a military family and they rarely listen to music. This is true even though his mother has made an effort in introducing him to musical instruments and even enrolled him in different types of musical classes when he was just a young boy.
During the early years, James never thought about entering the music industry. This call changed when he witnesses a 14 years old playing the electric guitar. Even if his interest music started to grow, James kept it all in and still continued his studies at the Harrow School. During that time, he was taking up a course majoring in aerospace engineering, manufacturing, as well as sociology. After that, he also went to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and he eventually became a commissioned officer in the British Forces.
In 2002, he decided to leave his army life. It was during that time that he decided to finally pursue his real passion-- music. In 2003, he performed at South By Southwest music festival. His performance caught the attention of Linda Perry of Custard Records and she offered him a contract. With the help of this talent scout, James was able to score a deal with Atlantic Records. He was then brought to Los Angeles to work on his first album entitled “back to bedlam”. The sad part is, the album struggled a bit during the earlier times. In his effort to revive his career, he released his second album entitled “You're Beautiful”. With this amazing effort, he boosted his first album which eventually landed number one the UK hit chart. Because of the popularity of his two albums, avid fans are always waiting to buy tickets to his concerts, live shows and gigs. In addition to this, famous US TV shows are also dying to have him as a guest. People from all over the world believe that James Blunt is one of the best UK musicians there are. Most showbiz critics would definitely agree with them.
