O’ Shea Jackson also known as Ice Cube is an American rapper, hip-hop artist, actor, record/film producer and director that was born on June 15, 1969 in Los Angeles California. He was the producer of the TV series called Barbershop as well as Are We There Yet? And he also represents a major role. He started in the year 1984 under the management of Ruthless Records. He was discovered by Dr. Dre, when he was performing in parties in which Dr. Dre had been hosted. Later on, as Dr. Dre signed a recording contract, he asked Jackson to join with him and eventually they worked together in writing songs and releasing as well.
His first debut album was called “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted” that was released on May 16, 1990 by Priority Label and it was produced by The Bomb Squad, Chilly Chill as well as Sir Jinx. It comprises of 16 tracks including “Endangered Species” featuring Chuck D, “I’m Only Out For One Thanks” with Flavor Flav and “A Gangsta’s Fairytale together with Lil Russ that was became a Certified Platinum Records that was sold for about 2, 430,000 copies.
As year goes by, he released more albums such as “Death Certificate” on October 29, 1991 that reached number 1 in Top R&B/ Hip-Hop Albums, followed by his 3rd album called “The Predator” on November 17, 1992. One year later, he launched his 4th album entitled “Lethal Injection” that was out on December 7, 1993. Upon releasing the albums, he collaborated with many artists including George Clinton, Marvin Gaye, Doug E. Fresh, Mary Jane Girls and many more…
His latest released was the album called “Everythang’s Corrupt” on October 21, 2014 and he worked together with 2 Chainz as well as RedFoo and the music video was directed by Will Kindrick. In the other hand, he also worked as an actor in the films Trespass as Savon, Three Kings, 21 and 22 Jump Street in which he portrayed a major roles. Aside from that, his songs were featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops and Doom 3: BFG Edition Video Games.
Jackson won the 2000 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards as Favorite Action Team for the film Three Kings and 2002 MECCA Movie Award for Acting Award. He also had a placed in VH1 Hip Hop Honors in 2006 plus BET Hip-Hop Awards 2009 and BET Honores 2014. Jackson gained support and respect in music industry as well as in film industry in which he showed his music talent and underestimated acting abilities.
