About George Michael

George Michael was born in London. His father moved to England in around 1950 and renamed himself as Jack Panos. When George Michael was in School, he and one of his music loving friends Andrew Ridgeley got together to form ‘Wham’ which was actually a pop group. Their group became popular which inspired them to record some of their compositions. And they released 'Fantastic' in 1983. The album was hit in the UK market. The pop group could exist for five years and had many top released singles. In 1984, George Michael became interested to make a solo career and produces a number of singles which include ‘Careless Whisper', ‘Do They Know It's Christmas’ and 'A Different Corner'.

His first solo album was ‘Faith’ which was released in 1987. The album became hit in the top charts. Furthermore, the album became certified Diamond. George Michael was one of few artists who could produce eight number one albums and many singles. He had achieved two number one albums in the U.S. George has been a great singer who performed with QueenAretha FranklinLisa Stansfield and Elton John.

As a person he has been very kind. George Michael donated five million pounds to a number of charities. And he loves to find out scope to donate money and help people.

In his 30-year musical career, George Michael achieved so many awards and recognitions. He has three Brit Awards, four MTV awards and three American Music Awards. He also achieved two Grammy Awards. He is known as the most played singer in the British radio broadcasting between the time of 1984–2004.

A documentary was made on this musician in 2005 which was titled ‘A Different Story’. This shows the life of this great genius who sang ‘Careless Whisper’ George Michael had more than 25 live tours and more than 3 personal tours. He is both commercially and socially successful singer. He is sometimes known as ‘stylized George Michæl’ due to his nice appearance. He suffered from viral infection and some other physical illnesses in 2011. But his physical condition improved over time.
