About Famous Players

There are two artists by this name. The Famous Players were a quality power-pop band from South London, who released the "Who's Kissing You" 7" in 1980. Comprising of Norman Layne (Guitar / Vocals), Ralph Dunlop (Bass / Backing Voc), Gordon Reaney (Lead Guitar) and Keith Beasley (Drums) the tracks on the disc were recorded in June 1979 at the home studio of Epsom based Rob Davis and Ray Stiles of Mud fame, w ith Ray doing most of the production, and Rob adding top note backing vocals on the B side, "Angel In Black".
