About Eurythmics

Eurythmics or “The Eurythmics” is a music duo that formed in British in 1980, the members are Ann Lennox a.k.a “Annie” born on December 25, 1954 in Scotlan, United Kingdom and David Allan Stewart a.k.a “Dave” born on September 9, 1952 in England. Annie is a singer-songwriter while David is a musician, songwriter and producer. They were both in a member of the former band called “The Tourist” (The Catch).

Annie and David continue to work together with their manager Kenny Smith and Sandra Turnbull. Their first album is “In the Garden” that had been released in 1981 featuring Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit, Clem Burke, Robert Görl and Tim Wheater. They had been also collaborated with Roger Pomphrey.

The duo decided to establish their personal studio through a bank loan in 1982. They make songs like “This is the House”, “The Walk" and “Love is Stranger” with Raynard Laulkner and Adam Williams but not successful as they expected. At this point Annie suffered in nervous breakdown and Stewart experienced collapse lung.

Their band had been known through their 2nd album “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” on 1983 that ranked number 2 in UK Chart and worldwide especially in US. Following their 3rd album “Touch” released in November 1983. This album became number one in UK, but they got separated ways and make their own name in industry in the year 1990.

In 1985, they released their 4th album called “Be Yourself Tonight” which they collaborated with many musicians together with Tom Pretty, Stevie Wonder, Dean Garcia and Michael Kamen. Annie had the chance to sing along with Aretha Franklin and Elvis Costello. The band had their opportunity to performed in New York at MTV Video Music Awards and Radio City Music Hall.

Eurythmics introduced their 5th album “Revenge” in 1986. They consider this album as their best selling album; it became Double Platinum in UK and Gold in US. They went to a live concerts and an enormous worldwide tour in Australia. Their 6th album was “Savage” (more on Lennox part). This album was not firmly popular in the US; on the other hand it was Platinum and top ten in UK chart in 1987.

Two years later, they released their 7th album entitled “We Too Are One” and “Peace” in the year 1999. They also launched a compilation of their albums. In the present year Annie and Daniel Reunited in the tribute Concert for the band “Beatles” which they performed in Los Angeles Convention Center after the Grammy Awards Night.
