About Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton was born on 30th March, 1945 in England. Clapton’s father was a pilot but unluckily he could not know this thing until he was 53. Clapton went to live with his grandparents at an early age as his mother was not able to raise him up alone. In the teenage time, he started to love B.B King, John Lee Hooker and other prominent blues artists of his time. When he was 14 years old he decided to learn guitar. He was kicked out of college which ultimately made him to join Paul Samwell-Smith in 1963. Eric Clapton soon became a good guitar player and could amaze people with his blues playing. Clapton formed a band which was known as “Cream” in 1966 with Jack Bruce (bassist) and Ginger Baker (drummer). But they bad did not really want to come up with pure form of blues. They tried rock and blues trio.

Around in 1966, they released debut singles like “Wrapping Paper" and "I Feel Free” which become hit in the UK. After that they released their first album, "Fresh Cream". Their second album "Disreali Gears” came up soon and immediately the album become so hit in the market because of the song "Sunshine Of Your Love". During that time the bad toured many countries and gained immense popularity through their performance. But the band could not go on. Due to Clapton’s interview and his popularity might be the reason of the breakup of “Cream”. But the band members thought of a last tour in the North America before breaking the band. During 1969, Clapton tried to form a band which was known as Blind Faith with bassist Ric Grech.

Clapton gained popularity with Blind Faith. The band had to tour many countries for concerts. But In March 1970 Eric Clapton tried to build up his solo career. Clapton is well-known for “Tears In Heaven”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “Bell Bottom Blues”, “Let It Rain” and “Layla”.

He has been an iconic figure for the blues and jazz music lovers. Clapton is considered one of the truly learned blues musicians whose styles are highly inspired by the early blues heroes.

Eric Clapton reviews

It was the best event...Eric & his band was great!!!! The opening band was fantastic as well as Clark, jr.
It was lovely. Very chill. He's still got 'it'. But I really felt bad for the people in the front rows who had a 6 foot iron and seemingly opaque wall in front of their faces. No one was allowed to stand up either.
Awesome! What a line up... Jimmy Vaughn, Gary Clark JR and Eric Clapton. We flew in from Minneapolis just to attend this concert. It was amazing how many people flew in from all over the world to attend this concert.
It was fantastic!!! Loved the music, loved the energy of the fans, and loved the three acts on stage at the same time for the encore. The is nothing like being in New York for a concert. New Yorkers are the best!!!
