Emeli Sandé, a popular Scottish songwriter and recording artist, was born in March 10, 1988. She has been a well known figure in music industries for writing for many artists which include Preeya Kalidas, Susan Boyle, including Cher Lloyd, and Leona Lewis. She is one of the top selling artists in many places of the world today.
She became well known in 2009 with a work with rapper Chipmunk's debut single. And this single “Diamond Rings”, was one of the top singles on the hit list in UK. She was seen on Wiley's “Never Be Your Woman,” which was also another hit. Emeli Sandé signed a contract with the EMI Music and Virgin Records. Her first solo “Heaven” was released in 2011. This solo single was number two on U.K. hit chart. In 2011, Emeli Sandé worked closely with rapper Green and released “Read All About It,” this single exceeded the expectations and earned number one position in the U.K and Scotland. Her first single was released in 2011 which is known as “Daddy”. “Next to Me” was released later on after the release of the first one and this single was super hit in Scotland.
When she released “Our Version of Events” in 2012, she became the top selling artist in U.K. Her name became prominent everywhere in the world when she performed in the opening ceremony as well as closing program of the “London Olympics”. Sandé began to show her talent when she wrote a song at the age of 11. Sandé went to a school atAlford Academy where her father used to be a teacher. Her interest in music began to grow when her sister recorded a piano playing of Sandé and sent the copy to Trevor Nelson's BBC Urban music. She went to University of Glasgow and earned a degree in medicine. Sandé was engaged in 2012 to her boyfriend who is a scientist by profession.
