Aubrey Drake Graham a Canadian rapper/songwriter/actor that was born on October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario by Sandi Graham and Dennis Graham that had been divorced when he was young. He started his acting in Forest Hill Collegiate Institute. While he’s in the age of 15, he was introduced to his friend’s father which is part of the Canadian TV show. In the Drake’s desire to be an actor, he grabs the chance to enter the TV show.
Drake didn’t stop for being just an actor but he discovered his talent being a rapper. So, he released his initial mixtape called “Room for Improvement” which he describe as “pretty straight forward and radio friendly) featuring Trey Songz and Lupe Fiasco. Jay-Z, Maxwell, Anthony Hamilton, Talib Kweli and Mos Def are some of the artists who influenced him in his music career. He launched mixtape called “Comaback Season” with its single as well as music video featuring Trey Songz called “Replacement Girl” that was also featured in BET and “New Joint of the Day”. After working with Wayne in some songs, he invited Drake to work with him and go to Houston to perform with him and after those tours they recorded many songs together like “Ransom”. Even though he has the opportunity to sign a contract with Wayne, he did not signed instead he continue his own releasing mixtape. He added his 3rd mixtape called “So Far Gone” which he mentioned in his blog about his mentor Lil Wayne, Lloyd, Bun B, Omarion and also his friend. The mixtape rises its fame and made its spot in radio that became the MTV’s “The Hottest Mixtape of 2009 (So Far)”.
Drake starting to raise his prominence, he worked together with famous artists including Eminem, Rihanna, Timbaland, Jamie Foxx, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys and a lot more. He signed a recording agreement in Young Entertainment on June 29, 2009. In 2010, he came out “thank me later” on June 15, 2010. The mixtape was made with Nicki Minaj, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, The Dream and Kanye West through Universal Motown Records, Cash Money records along with Young Entertainment. It sold 447, 000 copies and became Certified Platinum by RIAA and in Canada. Followed by “Take Care” in 2001 and “Nothing Was the Same” in the year 2013. Which made him to won the “Best Rap Album” in the 55th Grammy Awards.
