Domino is also known as Shawn Antoine Ivy. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1972 but brought up in California. Around in 1990, he auditioned for the Bloods & Crips projects. But he was already a Crip himself. Domino produced two great hits in US which include "Getto Jam" (reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100). And he also produced many hits albums in his career. He has continuous top positions on the R&B charts around in 2000.
Domino took part on the America is Dying Slowly, a compilation CD of Red Hot Organization. Many other great artists took part into this album such as Wu-Tang Clan, Biz Markie and Fat Joe. The CD was released mainly to raise a sort of awrenes about HIV AIDS in the African regions where it became epidemic.
Domino released his first self-titled album in 1993 and it was both commercially and critically appreciated. But it was said that the style that was adopted by Domino was similar to Snoop Doggy Dogg. And many fans went away and suggested to boycott his albums. He is the rapper and hip-hop artist who performed a No. 1 rap single which held melodic hip-hop all the way through the entire song. After three year, Domino came up with hs second release, entitled, “Physical Funk”. But this album proved to be a failure due to some trouble with corporate moves. But the video of "Physical Funk" was hit on MTV.
He suffered much because of his controversial first album. But he did not quite and concentrated more on music. Later he released several albums which include “The World of Demonology”, “Demonology”, “Remember Me,” “D-Freaked It,” “Getto,” “Domination,” and the latest album, “Get It Right”. He has been regular n shows. He has gained a number of fans and soon he may tour to many parts of the world.
The most remarkable singles of this artists are "Getto Jam" (#7, US), "Sweet Potato Pie" (#3, US Rap), "Tales from the Hood" (#8, US Rap), "Physical Funk" (#8, US Rap), and "Like That" (#8, US Rap).
