Digitalism is a German electro house music duo that was formed on 2004 in Hamburg, Germany. The duo comprises of Jens “Jence” Moelle and İsmail "Isi" Tüfekçi that became friends in a record store. They started to mixing as well as recording demo tapes in World War II bunker. They worked with Virgin, Kitsune, A Stralwerks and V2 labels along their career. Their first debut album was called “Idealism” that was released on May 9, 2007 through Virgin Records and produced by the duo itself. The album consists of 15 tracks and 7 bonus tracks in which they collaborated with Roberth Smith, Michael Dempsey and Laurence Tolhurst in the song “Digitalism in Cairo” and for “Pogo” they worked with Kimberly Isaac Moyes. The “Idealistic” was featured in Rock star Game ‘Mignight Club: Los Angeles and in Need for Speed: ProStreet as well as FIFA 08.
4 years later, they introduced their 2nd album entitled “I Love You Dude” on 5th of June 2011 by V2 records that ranked at number 9 in Australian Dance Albums Chart and number 95 in French Albums Chart. The duo had also teamed up with Mark Ralph as Vocal Producer, Cornelius Ulrich in Drums and Mike Marsh in Mastering. Aside from that, they teamed up with Julian Casablanca for the song “Forrest Gump”. After the release of the album, they performed in Hurricane Festival on June 18, 2011.in addition, their songs was featured in the TV Series Master Chef in the semi finals episode as well as in Just Dance 2. As the band carry on, they held lots of performances including in Festival Do Norte in Spain that had been held on July 3, 2014 together with Holy Ship in USA, Germany, in UK with Shit Robot and Kolsch, WHIMini Festival Day 1 along side with Gui Boratto in France.
In the other hand, they also did remixes for a different artists including Depeche Mode, Cut Copy, Daft Punk, Tiga, Monk as well White Stripes, The Presets and Tom Vek. They were introduced in the Lollapalooza, Vines, South by Southwest along with Electric Picnic and in Ultra Music Festival in which they received positive feedback among their co-artists, critics and their listeners. The duo will continue to make music that will attract our ears in their dance music and remixes.
