Country singer Frederick Dierks Bentley was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1975. Young Bentley inherited his father’s love for music and started to play guitar at an early age of 13. Later on, he moved to Lawrenceville, New Jersey to attend local school there. After graduation, he entered the University of Vermont and after one year moved to Nashville, Tennessee, but finally left college to devote his life to music. Dierks Bentley started playing in small local bars trying to come up with his own style and earn at the same time. He was playing classical and bluegrass country and also studied some old tapes of country music concerts while working for the local Nashville Network channel. All this resulted in his first self-titled album in 2003 which all of a sudden became platinum. That is when his stage name was created – Dierks Bentley, using his second name as the first. Dierks was the last name of his mother’s grandmother.
After success of his first album, Bentley continued his work which soon resulted in «Modern Day Drifter» – another platinum album with two top hits. Such great success did not go unnoticed; Dierks Bentley was awarded with the CMA Award and honored to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry – a weekly country-music concert. By now, he is the youngest participant after being invited at the age of 29.
Bentley continued his brilliant career releasing 4 more albums in 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2014. «Long Trip Alone», «Every Mile a Memory», «Feel That Fire», «Home» and «Riser» all included singles that entered charts on top positions. Besides, a CD «Greatest Hits/Every Mile a Memory 2003-2008» came out stating the artist’s popularity. Also, his live show in Denver, Colorado appeared issued on DVD.
«Riser» commemorated Dierks Bentley’s loss: his loved and respected father passed out in 2014. This became the most nostalgic album of all. The songs tell about unfortunate changes in life, about accepting and living on no matter what.
Dierk Bentley’s musical career is a fair example of success for a country singer. He can boast numerous nominations, awards and prizes and feels to be aiming for even more. His songs are touching and sensitive; his lyrics are believed to be more traditional for country-style music. Bentley writes about loneliness and unhappy love, infidelity and alcoholic oblivion.
He collaborates a lot with other singers creating songs together and performing at joint concerts. Bentley has also invited his daughter Evie (Evelyn Day Bentley) to appear on the «Thinking of You». Another appearance was made by his dog Jake for a few Bentley’s videos. Other members of his family are his wife Cassidy, daughter Jordan Catherine, son Knox and one more dog George.Dierks Bentley tour dates 2017
