Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong a.k.a “Dido” is a singer/songwriter that was born on 25th of December 1971 in Kensington, London, and England UK by Clare Armstrong and William O’Malley Armstrong. She was a promising singer who showed her passion in singing and playing instruments like Piano, Drums and guitar. She started his career on the year 1995 in which she did demo tracks compiled it and send it to Network Management and saw her potential as a great singer and she signed a recording contract with them eventually. But in 1996, she signed to Arista Records and Cheeky records (her brother’s independent label). She was married to Rohan Gavin; they were married since 2010 and they had one son named Stanley.
Dido released her first debut album called “No Angel” on 1st of June 1999 by two big label Arista and Cheeky Records. It was Certified 3x Platinum in Switzerland and sold for 16,000,000 million copies all over the world aside from that it became the 2nd best selling album in UK and her album got the “Best Album” of BRIT Awards 2002. Her 2nd album was “Life for Rent” that was released on September 29, 2003 produced by herself together with Rollo Armstrong, Rick Nowels. It was also a big hit that became Certified 7x Platinum Record that sold 12 million copies and was nominated as Best British Pop/Rock Female Artist in World Music Awards and won as top 10 Best Selling Foreign album by IFPI Hong Kong.
After the success of her 2 albums, she followed “Safe Trip Home” on November 17, 2008 by Cheeky, Sony Music and RCA Records and produced by Jon Brion and The Ark. It was nominated in Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album; he collaborated with Citizen Scope and Clarence Greenwood for the single “Burning Love”. Her 4th album was “Girl Who Got Away” that was introduced on March 26, 2013 by RCA Records that was recorded in California and London. In this album, he worked together with many people including Kendrick Lamar for the single “let Us Move” so that this album was very successful and got publicized in UK, Germany, Australia and even New Zealand. Aside from her successful albums, she was also grateful in receiving many awards all throughout her career including ‘Songwriter of the Year” and ASCAP by ASCAP UK Awards as well as “Best song” for her single “If I Rise” by Denver Film Critics Society Award 2010.
