Craig David used to be a renowned DJ but later he became an aspiring pop star in U.K. His single "Fill Me In" earned him fame and led him to start a solo career. He is very young artist who could manage a space in the musical industry within a short time. He even attained mainstream U.S. recognition and platinum sales in eighteen countries.
Before his prominence as a pop star, he used to be a radio jock and later he saw himself at record clubs which in fact led him to meet some great producers. He won a songwriting contest and the song was recorded and presented to concerned people. Two years later, David was able to meet Artful Dodger who is a producer. The producer gave him scope of some positions as lead vocal. The songs were on top of many charts.
In 2000, David comes up with his first solid solo, "Fill Me In”. The song became number one in hit charts. That was the year, when David could win three MOBO awards. And in 2001, he was given another MOBO (for Best U.K. Act).
In 2002, David released his second album which includes good tracks like “ironically a slightly grittier album” and “Slicker Than Your Average”. And the first four tracks from the album became super hit. His album then reached gold sales in the U.S. in 2007, David released "This Is the Girl," "Hot Stuff" and other tracks became hit.
David released first “Greatest Hits” in 2008. And before the release already he was one of the top selling artists in the U.K. and U.S. during 2009, David said about his deal with Universal. In 2010, David produced a Garage compilation album entitled “Rewind Old School Classics”. In the recent times he worked with Jim Beanz for new releases. David now has a busy schedule and his deal with Universal Music Publishing Group will give him more opportunities.
David is Jew and always serious about the customs and traditions of the Jewish communities. He is also a man of kindness who has been actively working to fight tuberculosis. The World Health Organization selected Craig David as an Ambassador against tuberculosis.
