About Counting Crows

Counting Crows is a well-known American group. They woke up famous in 1994 soon after the release of their first album. The most recognizable hit from this album is “Mr Jones”. One more remarkable thing for their career is the nomination for the Oscar. They were nominated for their soundtrack to these cons part of Shrek cartoon. Initially the group consisted of David Bryson and Adam Duritz. They joined into the duo in 1991. Sometimes they played with David Immergluck, but he wasn't a permanent participant. At that time the band mostly concentrated on life-performances. In 1993 some new members joined the group. They were Matt Malley, Charlie Gillingham and Steve Bowman. If to speak about the name, it is known that Counting Crows originates from a popular nursery rhyme. It was mentioned in the touching film “Signs of Life”. Some fragments of the rhyme are mentioned in the band’s song “A Murder of One”. 1993 became remarkable for Counting Crows because it is the year of the first album which was called “August and Everything After” release. It was astonishingly successful and they decided to invite one more guitarist. This is how Dan Vickrey appeared in Counting Crows. He was not only an additional guitarist, but also a back vocalist. In 1994 Counting Crows went on a joint tour with legendary The Rolling Stones and it added to their success. However, the pressure of fame was too hard for some members of the band. Steve Bowman preferred to leave and Adam Duritz had a nervous breakdown and fell into a deep depression. It caused the break in the band’s activity. They came back to work in 1996 and released the 2nd album in October. Later they had one more break in their career because of Adam Duritz’s problems with vocal cords. Their next album manifested David Immergluck come back to the band as an official member. Up to now Counting Crows have seven studio albums and seven official members. They use such instruments as guitar, piano and other keyboard instruments, bass guitar, banjo, contrabass, drum kit, accordion, clarinet and pedal steel guitar. All these instruments together with great vocal make the sounding of the band unique and recognizable.

Counting Crows reviews

Love it ... Great concert ❣️
I had such a great time at the concert. Counting Crows sounded great. He made some interesting choices on the arrangement of the songs but still showed his talent and his great voice. Matchbox 20 was AMAZING! ROB Thomas sounds better than he did 20 years ago. He is a singer that sounds way better than he does on his cds. And his stage presence is unmatched to anyone else. He loved his band which is great to see. And he loved to interact with the crowd. Matchbox 20 was one of my best concerts ever!!!!! Wow!
Such an amazing evening!! ❤️
It was such a great show! Rob Thomas came off the stage and right into the crowd, right where we were. I tried to shake his hand but could only get close enough to rub his back. Lol.
Powerfully emotionally charged especially Matchbox Twenty ?? really was in touch with crown generated a Beautiful mood of togetherness ?
Great show.... Counting Crows was lackluster, but Matchbox more than made up for them!
Was a great show , I was surprised that the Counting Crows opened. The venue itself was difficult to get to, and was managed differently than any other I have been to in the past. I have loved The Counting Crows since I was a teen! ❤️
Thought it was amazing, very talented groups
Matchbox 20 was awesome, but my favorite band will always be Counting Crows. They were absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of the show. Just wish Counting Crows would have played a little longer
Love hearing BENT live... and everything else?
Great concert ! Had a blast
