About Ciara

Is an American R & B multi-platinum singer-songwriter, actress, record producer, fashion model and dancer, Ciara’s full name is Ciara Princess Harris. She was born on October 25, 1985 in Austin, Texas. She grew up in a military family that frequently travelled around the world. After her family settled in Atlanta, Georgia, she joined the all girl group Hearsay but unfortunately the group disbanded for having differences. The group loss was Ciara’s gain – she was noticed for her songwriting skill. In 2002, Ciara met music producer Jazze Pha, that eventually signed her a record deal with LaFace Records. Ciara’s influence and inspirations includes Destiny’s Child, Janet Jackson and the late, King of Pop Michael Jackson.

In 2004, Ciara released her debut studio album Goodies, which includes her three hit singles: “Goodies”, “1, 2 Step”, and “Oh”. Her album was a smashed hit, certified triple platinum (over 3 million in sales) by the Recording Industry Association America (RIAA). The album earned her four nominations at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards.

In 2006, she released her second album, Ciara: The Evolution, which includes the hit singles “Get Up”, “Promise”, and “Like A Boy”. The album topped the highest spot in the US and was certified platinum. In 2009, she released her third studio album, Fantasy Ride, was significantly less stellar than Ciara’s first two albums. The track “Love Sex Magic” featuring Justine Timberlake became a global hit and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. In 2010, Ciara released her fourth album Basic Instinct, with even lower commercial success than its predecessor. In 2011, a new record deal materialized with Epic Records, and led to the released of her self-titled fifth album, Ciara. In 2006, Ciara tried the silver screen for her film debut All You’ve Got and in 2012 for Mama, I Want to Sing! And That’s My Boy. In 2013, Ciara had recurringrole in the US TV series entitled The Game.

Since making her wave in the music scene, Ciara has achieved eight Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles, including the highest spot. She received numerous awards including one Grammy Award and has sold millions of albums and digital singles worldwide.
