About Chris Lake

Chris Lake is a Scottish House DJ and Producer. He was born on August 8, 1982 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Chris Lake became popular by remixing “Climbatize” original by The Prodigy, “Phat Planet” by Leftfield and “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics. Doing this remixes, he used the alias “Cristophe D’Abuc”.

In 2005, Chris Lake’s single entitled “Changes” featuring Laura V was released with Alternative Route Recordings and with Universal Music for the worldwide release a year later. This year he experienced his breakthrough moment. He collaborated with Rhythm Code. He released remixes of different artists, like Quivver, Delacy, and Stretch and Vern. Collaborating gave Chris Lake exposure to the listeners, but his solo singles made him even more remarkable. His single “Changes” leveraged him for a better position in his music career and made him known all over the world.

In 2006, his debut single made it to number twenty seven in UK Singles Chart. It also reached the top ten “Hot Dance Airplay” chart on Billboard. Rising Music was launched to release his own music. Rising 001 was able to be in the top three DJ Download charts for one solid month. In 2007, “Carry Me Away” single featuring Emma Hewitt was released. It peaked at the top spot on Billboard chart like his first single.

His third single “Only One” was released and was included in top ten US Dance chart. Then his fourth single “If You Knew” was also a part of top ten US Dance chart. Chris Lake is one of Radio 1 by Pete Tong guests. Pete Tong acknowledged Chris Lake second to Mylo in terms of Scottish talents. After weeks of being featured in Peter Tong’s radio show, his singles, especially “Changes”, was aired in shows of Annie Mac, The Trophy Twins and Zane Lowe.

Chris Lake is running two labels of his own. They are Rising Music established in 2006, and the other one is the Rising Trax. Chris Lake utilizes “Logic Pro” for his studio remixes and recordings. Chris Lake is under the supervision of Three Six Zero Group. Young as he is, Chris Lake is globally recognized talented producer and acknowledged as one of the elite DJs.
