Britney Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi on December 2, 1981. She was the second child of James Spears and Lynne Bridges and grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana. Ever since Spears was a child, she has the passion for performing in front of many people.
In 1992, she joined the Star Search, a popular TV competition for young singers. She also auditioned for the television show The New Mickey Mouse Club when she was 8 years old, but only made it to the final cast when she was 11. After The New Mickey Mouse Club show was cancelled in 1995, Spears started her career as a solo performer. Her debut single “…Baby One More Time” was released in 1998 and became Britney’ instant ticket to stardom. Britney’s debut album which carries the same title as her debut single reached the top spot in the Billboard 200 Chart in 1999. Among the other popular songs released by Britney include “Oops! I Did It Again” (2000), “Toxic” (2004), “Womanizer” (2008) and “Till the World Ends” (2011).
Throughout her career as a solo artist, Spears performed in several live concerts worldwide beginning with the …Baby One More Time Tour in 1999 after the successful launch of her first album. The Circus Starring Britney Spears with tour dates spanning from March to November 2009 became a global hit and was considered among the top-grossing global concerts in that year.
Aside from her music, Britney also has stints in television shows and big-screen movies. She first appeared for a cameo role in 2000 in the movie Longshot, but her first main character role was for the movie Crossroads (2002). Her most recent notable television appearance was in the reality show The X-Factor where she was one of the resident judges in its second season.
Spear’s Personal Life Being an entertainment icon, Spear’s personal life was very much open to the public. Her love affair with former co-star Justin Timberlake was first publicized in 2000, although the two ended their relationship a few years later. In 2004, Spears married Jason Alexander after a few months of dating, but soon after two days filed a divorce. Later that year, she married Kevin Federline, one of her backup dancers in her concert tours. Spears and Federline were later divorced in 2007, but during their marriage, Spears gave birth to two sons to which the two agreed to have joint custody. Her latest love affair bloomed in 2010 with her then agent Jason Trawick. However, the two call it quit in January 2013 after being engaged for a year.
