About Bon Jovi

One of the most known American rock band is Bon Jovi. The group was formed in 1983. The band is composed of four members: their lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, then they have their guitarists Phil, pianist David Bryan, Hugh McDonald who is the bassist, and their drummer Tico Torres.

1980’s. On January 1984, they released their debut “Bon Jovi” album with the hit song “Runaway”. They released their second album a year after: “7800⁰ Fahrenheit”. On May 1985, they have scheduled concerts in US, Japan and all over Europe. Their third album was “Slippery When Wet” on August 1986 which won a Best Stage Performance Award by MTV Video Music. And at the American Music Awards they won in the Favorite Pop/Rock Band category. Another award was given to them by People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Rock Group. In September 1988, they released their fourth album “New Jersey”. “Living in Sin” video became very controversial since the song was banned in MTV for it contains too many sex scenes. Then for two long years, 1989 and 1990, they had a worldwide tour. Performed in 232 shows and visited 22 countries for this tour.

After their continuous, exhausting recording and concerts, the band went home without any future plan just to take their time and rest with no desire of recording another album.

1992. After their rest and resolving their differences, they fire majority of their team and hire new people. Then, the fifth album “Keep the Faith” was released. This represents the new chapter of Bon Jovi. The songs in this album are more matured and have more serious lyrics.

1994. Greatest hits album “Cross Road” was released. It had its hit songs “Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night” and “Always”.

1995. The year when they released their sixth album “These Days”.

1999. The band reunited and recorded “Real Life”, a movie soundtrack of EdTV.

2000. They released their seventh album “Crush” with the first hit single “It’s My Life”. This single received awards on Grammy and VH1 Music Awards.

2001. They have plans for their eight album, but after the 9-11 terrorist attacks, the band focused on creating tribute, participating in charities, etc.

2002. “Bounce” was released as their eight album.

2005. The ninth album “Have a Nice Day” was released.

2007. “Lost Highway” was their tenth album. It was followed by the eleventh “The Circle” album on 2009. “What About Now” album was released early 2013.
