Bee Gees is a pop music group formed on 1958; comprises of the 3 brothers Barry Gibb (singer-songwriter, record producer, and musician), Robin Hugh Gibb (singer-songwriter, producer) and Maurice Gibb (musician, singer0songwriter). They were recognized as World’s Best-selling music artists around the world and they were inaugurated in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
In 1965, they released their 1st studio album called “The Bee Gees and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs” on the month of November through Leedon Records and produced by Bill Sheperd and Robert Iredale. It comprises of 7 tracks in each side in which all of the song was composed of Barry Gibb. Subsequently they introduced their 2nd album called “Spicks and Specks” on November 1966 through Spin Records. The tracks were composed by Robin Gibb and they collaborated with John Robinson, Steve Kipner and Geoff Grant.
As they continue, they keep releasing album on and on, in which each album was supported by their fans as well. They released more or less 23 studio albums, 2 live album and 3 soundtracks including “Saturday Night Forever” that was ranked at number 1 in UK and US. The Gibbs brothers was inspired by many artists including the Former Michael Jackson as well as The Beatles, and The Mills Brothers who also inspired by them.
Being a prominent group, they got the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, Legend Award and Hall of Fame Award. The group also received lots of awards including the Grammy Awards in which they got Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Group through the song “how deep is Your Love” plus Album of the Year along side with Producer of the year for “Saturday Night Fever”.
On the other hand, the sad story was Maurice died on January 12, 2003 due to heart attack during the surgery. In a while, they still continue, their journey as a solo artist and performed in many countries. But in the year 2006, they bring back together in Miami Charity concert for Diabetic Research Institute and that is their first show after their brother died. But 5 years later, Robin was diagnosed having a liver cancer in which he suffered for too much pain. However, Robin sickness did not hinder him in performing in a charity concert on London Palladium, but in 2012 Robin did not survive in coma and passed away on May 20, 2012. We can say that Gibbs brothers leave a legacy in music in which until now their songs spread and alive in the hearts of their fans. And Barry continues the heritage in which his two brother’s memories lived in him.
