About Bastille

Bastille is one of a great band formed in London in year 2010, the name “Bastille” is came from the word Bastille Day (Smith’s Birthday celebration). The band members are Dan Smith (Singer-Songwriter) was born on 14 July, 1986, Kyle Simmons (keyboard) born on 5 February, 1988, William Farquarson (bass guitar, Acoustic guitar) 22 September, 1983 and Chris “Woody” Wood (drums, backup vocals) born on 6 July 1985. 

The band started their career with an offer a full contract with Virgin Records. They started making names with their single “Flaws” and the song “Icarus” and out 300 copies all over London. After that moment they follow their debut single title “Overjoyed” In April 2012 and made a ‘Track of the day’ by famous publication Q Magazine. The band raises their career in the music charts, in also the same year one of the publishing newspaper “the Guardian” also called them ‘New Band of the Day’. 

Their songs became viral in The Sims 3: Supernatural that came out in September the same year. Bastille’s first album in the studio start at year 2013 called “Bad Blood” and it became a top in UK Chart with fourth single “Pompeii” that reached number two in UK and five in US, in one interview the band open their fifth single which is “Laura Palmer” and out on 3 June 2013 with video of band’s VEVO page. 

Another blast, they release their sixth single title “Things We Lost in the Fire” according to them this was gonna be the last single in their album “Bad Blood”’. After a few months, the band release again a latest single named “Of the Night” with collaboration on the song “the Rhythm of the Night” and “Rhythm is a Dancer” that promote “All this Bad Blood” from their debut album “Bad Blood”. They did concerts in South Africa which is a very successful one. 

Awards:  In year 2014, the band got the “British Breakthrough Act” in BRIT AWARD. They show their remixed of “Pompeii” (Bastille’s Version).Their songs also nominated for “Bad Blood” got nominated for Best Album, “iHeart Radio Music Award” for ALT Rock Song of the Year for the song “Pompeii” and World Music Awards for Best Song and Best Video.“Bad Blood” in JIMtv Jimmie Awards for Album International and “Of the Night” in World Music Award for Best Song and Best Video.
