About Avicii

He was born on the 8th of September 1989 by the name Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, is a Swedish EDM (Event Driven Marketing) DJ, a records producer and remixer. Avicii had been nominated twice in Grammy Award for Sunshine with David Guetta in 2012 and for his song Levels in 2013. He started in 2007 after signing a contract with Dejfitts Plays which continued until 2009. In 2010, he released the song Seek Bromance which became a hit in several countries like Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and United Kingdom.

His commercial success placed him in several nominations and fortunately, he won some of them. In 2012 and 2013, he was nominated in MTV Europe Music Awards where he received three nominations. Best Electronic and Best Swedish Act in 2012 and Best in Northern European Act in 2013. Aside from getting three nominations for the said year, Avicii won two more awards. He won in Best Electronic and Best Swedish Act, both in the year 2013. MTV Europe Music Awards was formed in 1994 under MTV Networks Europe. He also won the Favorite Electronic Music Artist in 2013, an award with the famous American Music Awards which was created by Dick Clark in 1973. After receiving big awards from different well known music organizations, his music did not stop from being recognized. In 2014 alone, he received eight nominations, from which six won. He got nominated from his song “Wake Me Up” in 2014 for World’s Best Song and World’s Best Video. His album “True” got nominated as well for World’s Best Album. Avicii himself got nominated for the same year for World’s Best Male, World’s Best Live Act, and World’s Best Entertainer of the Year. To wrap up his awards, he won the World’s Best Swedish Act and World’s Best Electronic Dance Artist both in the year 2014.

After he penetrated the music industry in 2007, and being recognized by countless organizations giving awards to successful artists, Avicii is now considered a household name.

He considers Daft Punk as one of his great influences. Daft Punk is a duo, from France, famously known for their electronic music. Aside from Daft Punk, Avicii also noted that Swedish House Mafia is also his inspiration. Swedish House Mafia is a group of three, specializing in electronic dance music. The group is consisting of Axwell, Steve Angelo and Sebastian Ingrosso.

Avicii is also known for his charitable works. One of those is his contribution to the House of Hunger, which helped distribute more than 2 million school meal throughout Africa.
