Karolina Miroslavivna Kuiek, more popularly known as Ani Lora, was born on September 27, 1978. She is one of the most respected Ukrainian pop singers of her time. Aside from singing, she also ventured into other fields like composing, acting, business, and served as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
Having given the most prestigious award, the People’s Artist of Ukraine, she has been considered as one of the most influential people in her Ukraine. She is likewise a goddess and topped the list of the most beautiful women in Easter Europe.
Karolina’s passion for music developed when she was 4 years old. She would normally join different school singing contests. In 1992, she joined the famous Pervotsvit and was hailed champion. This was the time when she met a producer named Yuriy Falyosa. At age 14, she was signed formally by Yuriy and so her career as a professional singer started to flourish. She was given a screen name, Ani Lorak.
Lorak continued to join different singing contests in different parts of the world, which she had won. She was also given recognitions because of her natural beauty and talent. Her very first album, “I Want to Fly”, came out to be a big success.
Lorak’s second album called “I Will Be Back” was released in 1997. Mastering of this project happened in NYC. In 1999, she started doing concert tours. Among the most significant places she visited includes Hungary, USA, Germany, and France.
She has also collaborated with renowned composers like Josh Phillips and Burrie Guard.
Ani had several other hit songs; most of which have topped the charts for weeks and are included in the best selling lists.
Ani’s Life Aside from Music
Ani Lorak spends more time doing charitable acts. It was in 2004-2005 when she was appointed to become the UN Goodwill Ambassador on AIDS/HIV in her country. UN and UNICEF have commended her for giving assistance to HIV patients in Ukraine.
Ani gains strength from her loved ones and from the people she encounters every single day. Becoming an ambassador makes her realize more about life; the more she wanted to make music to make people happy.
