Where and How Alicia Started?

Alicia started to discover her love and passion for music when she was just 7 years old. Even as early as her high school days, she had already attracted several recording companies. After several bidding, right after her graduation from the Professional Performance Arts School, major in choir, at age 16, she was signed by Clive Davis from Arista Records.

When Davis started out his own recording company, Alicia followed. J records was the one who produced Songs in A Minor in 2001.

She also won different Grammy awards for her second album like Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Best R&B Album. Alicia’s collaboration with Usher for the song “My Boo” was also a big hit winning the Best R&B Performance by a Group or Duo.

In 2007 and 2009, As I am and Girl on Fire albums were released respectively. Both have won Grammy awards and have sold hundred thousands of copies even on the first weeks after their release.

Alicia’s fifth album called Girl on Fire was released in 2012 and that made her back on the top chart. She was once again a winner of the Best R&B Album in 2014.
