About Alex Clare
Alexander George Claire also known as “Alex” a multi talented singer/songwriter born on September 14, 1985 in Southwark, London, England. Alex had his own mark in his alternative rock, drum and bass, dub step as well as electro house and R&B style in music. He was raised in a music oriented family in which he loves playing different instruments such as trumpet, drums and guitar. Alex studied in Shavington High School and later on he attended Westminster Kingsway College.
He started his career in the year 2010 but he was discovered by Island label where he released his first debut album called “The Lateness of the Hour” on 8th of July 2011 and produced by Mike Spencer and Major Lazer. It was peaked at number 17 in UK Albums Chart and number 48 on the US Billboard 200. The album’s single “Too Close” in which it was recognized as Certified Double Platinum by RIAA that was sold 3 million copies and nominated as “Best British Single” in BRIT Awards 2013. This first released caught the attention of his fans and other artists who got amazed in his talent.
As Alex continues, he was performed in Summer Well Festival and Queen’s College, Cambridge May Ball. However, he was released by Universal Island Record due to unimpressive performances of his album. One year later, his single “Too Close” was featured in the Internet Explorer 9 ads, Taken 2 and Vampire Diaries that was ranked at number 68 in US Billboard Hot 100 and rises in number 1 in German charts. Aside from the depressing happened, his album got permission to released his first album in America.
Alex collaborated with different artist including Jeff Wayne’s in “The New Generation” together with Gary Barlow, Joss Stone as well Liam Neeson. As well as Blake Claridge, Ian Bonhote, Sam Pilling as well as Josh Cole for “Not Giving In” by Rudimental in which Alex was featured artist together with John Newman. In the year 2014, he launched his 2nd album called “Three Hearts” on 11th of August with its single called “War Rages On”. It reached number 98 in UK Albums Chart, Number 43 in Germany and number 74 in Switzerland. He held concerts and performances all throughout his career in many countries including in Reading Festival 2013 in UK, Otawa Bluefest 2013 in Canada, Germany, Spain and more upcoming concerts.
