About 30 Seconds to Mars

From Emo to a little bit of Pop and Techno, 30 Seconds to Mars never fail their fans who are addicted to their musical style.

Who is this band?

30 Seconds to Mars hails from LA, California and was formed in 1998. They are comprised of Jared Leto on vocals guitar and keyboard, Shannon LEto on Drums and Tomo Milicevic on lead guitars, bass and strings. They debuted on 2002 with their self titled album that was produced by Bob Ezrin but made little commercial success.

How They achieved Fame

The band started to rise after releasing their 2nd album in 2005 entitled A Beautiful Lie and received multiple recognition and certifications world – wide. The album’s first single, Attack, was the most added song in radio station. It was followed by their second hit entitled The Kill, which made the longest run in US modern rock history.

In 2001, the band won their first award in the MTV Europe Music Award for best rock artist. They also bagged the Kerrang! Music Award for best single for the songs The Kill and From Yesterday. They also enjoyed sold out tours and concerts and opened up for great artists and has been compared with Pink Floyd, The Cure, Tool and U2.

In 2008, the band decided to produce their 3rd Album named This is War with another label. This pushed EMI to file a lawsuit amounting to $30 Million Dollars because they claimed that the band was not able to produce 2 out of the five songs that were written in their contract. However, after a year long battle, the two parties has settled the dispute because of the Havilland lawwhich stated that any contract beyond 7 years will be considered null and void, considering that the band was in the same old contract for 9 years. After the settling of the lawsuit, 30 seconds to Mars rose into the highlights with their hit singles This is War, Kings and Queens and Closer to the Edge.

In 2012, they released another album entitled Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams which collaborated with Steve Lillywhite. The album had a new approach making it more inspiring and likeable to the ears of avid listeners.
