The Russian metal band Slot originated in Moscow in year 2002. The band was formed by Igor Lobanoy, known as Cache, and Sergey Bogolyubsky, known as ID. Igor is the songwriter and vocalist of the band, while Sergey is the guitarist.
In 2003, the band launched their first album entitled “Slot 1”. They also released their first music video for the single “Odni” with MTV channel and other stations as well. Their debut album was released internationally, selling over ten thousand copies. In 2004, their band member Teona Dolnikova, left and pursue her solo career. Then, the winner of Best Vocal of the Year at RAMP Awards 2005, Uliana Elina, known as IF, became Slot’s female vocalist. Slot performed live at MSA in Moscow and at St. Petersburg’s Ice Palace with the band Korn. The band’s success enabled them to be chosen to contribute a soundtrack in various films like “Hunting for Piranha”, “Bumer”, “Pirate” and “Day Watch”.
In 2006, due to worldwide request of fans, Slot launched their official account in MySpace. Within a month, over one thousand followers visited their account and their music was played over twenty thousand times. Since it was a success launching an online account, they also registered an account on Facebook and on YouTube. During this year, the band also released their next studio album entitled “2 Wars”. Their single with the same name became a big hit and it was released with a music video. For the first twelve weeks of releasing the album, they sold over eight thousand copies. The band was nominated in RAMP Awards for four categories and they won “Hit of the Year”.
In 2007, the band collaborated with Daria Stavrovich, known as Nookie. They re-recorded and re-released their album “2 Wars”. The band was able to work with other local bands like Animal JazZ and Dolphin in different concerts. They also get to perform with Korn, Samael and Clawfinger, international rock bands. The band also schedule concerts in Baltic Region with over fifty thousand followers gathered to watch them play.
In 2009, Slot launched their album “4ever”. They gained listeners from Canada, UK and US. Then a year later, they released their debut English single entitled “Mirrors”. They grow bigger crowd and followers all over the world. In 2011, on 23rd of August, they released their first English album entitled “Break The Code”.
Then three years later, 2014, they released “Sixth” album. Then in April, during one of their autograph signing session in St. Peters burg, Nookie was stabbed in her neck. She was rushed in the hospital, her condition was almost critical but she was treated right away.
